WSSV Challenge
Initial mortalities began 24 hours post-injection challenge and continued through day 6. The experiment was terminated on day 7.
Final average survival ranged from 81% (Box 3 #6233) to 100% (Box 1 #6222).
Shrimp from Box 1 (#6222) showed the greatest resistance to WSSV in that no mortality was seen in any of the tanks during the study.
Shrimp from Box 2 (#691) had a final survival of 86%. Two of the tanks had 100% survival until day 6, at which time survival (86%) was the same in all three replicates.
Shrimp from Box 3 (#6233) showed the least resistance to WSSV in that final survival was 81%. This group showed the most variation with 100%, 57% and 86% survival in each of the 3 replicates.
Initial mortalities began 48 hours post-injection and continued through day 6. The experiment was terminated on day 7.

Final average survival ranged from 76% (Box 3 #6233) to 96% (Box 2 #691).
Bothshrimp from Box 2 (#691) and from Box 1 (#6222) (91%) showedthe good Vibrio resistance. Three tanks (2-box 2, 1-box 1) had 100% survival.
Survival of shrimp from Box 3 (#6233) ranged from 71-86%.

The most commom pathogens in Mexico include:
● WSSV below 28°C
● Necrotizing hepatic pancreatitis(NHP)throughout the year
● The discovery of EMS - AHPND in June 2013
● The IHHN and TSV does not affect production
● In June 2013, Mexico’s first EMS boom
● In the Sonara area, the first shrimp farming area was more than 18000 hectares in 2014, of which 10500 hectares were hit by diseases, and the mortality rate was higher. The average body weight of the shrimp shrimps was less than 8 grams after the emergency shrimps.
● 8500 hectares have been affected by EMS ,2000 hectares have been affected by WSSV
● The rapid growth of SPF shrimps in Mexico, the ultimate survival rate was generally lower than 30%
● In August, 2 large plantlets were ordered to order 4 batch of PRIMO prawns.
● For the first time, the PRIMO - generation seedlings were placed in the pond of EMS, and the shrimp was collected in December 2013.
● In 2014, there were 6,000 hectares of PRIMO generationseedlings
